TRAINING EVENTS FOR MEDIATORS

Persons in Need of Supervision (P.I.N.S)

ADVANCED MEDIATION TRAINING   

    

Date:         Sunday, November 2 and Monday, November 3, 2008

Time:        9:00 am to 5:00 pm

Location:   The Center for Community Justice

                  Schenectady, NY  12305

Trainer:     Duke Fisher

Fee:           No charge for mediators certified by The Center for

                  Community Jusice and individuals who have completed

                  Basic Mediation Training.

The Center is offering advanced training for P.I.N.S. mediation.  The training will prepare individuals to become volunteer PINS mediators for The Center.

This dynamic training provides participants with a working knowledge of the P.I.N.S. mediation process and the Juvenile Delinquency process as well as the skills necessary to effectively mediate many issues involving youth and families.  Included in this training are the following areas:

P.I.N.S. Legislation     Juvenile Delinquency Issues Referrals for the Probation Dept. 
  Mediating with parent and teens   Agreement writing

                    

The trainer, Duke Fisher, co-founder of Learning Laboratories, has been certified by the NYS Unified Court Systems Office of ADR.

Duke is a dynamic and imaginative trainer who has a "reputation to do whatever is takes to make sure people have fun and come out of a training with usable skills.

Culturally Competent Mediation for Everyone

Date:         Sunday, November 16 and Monday, November 17, 2008

Fee:            $50.00

This training is a two day advanced training for dealing effectively with vulgarity and culture-based attacks and innuendo.  Learn to mediate with anyone.  Learn to guide people in conflict through problem solving without steering, nudging or giving advice of any kind.  Face the toughest issues courageously, effectively with dignity and without judgment:  race, culture, class, ethnicity, sexuality, nationality, divergent world views.
