The Center for Community Justice Programs

ADVOCACY AND SUPPORT SERVICES

Criminal behavior affects the entire community, and there are few individuals more vulnerable than the children of victims and offenders. For this reason, the Center for Community Justice offers services that give children a voice, help children find stable and supportive homes, and help families heal.

Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA): Gives abused and neglected children a "voice in court." Specially trained volunteer advocates work with children and the Family Court System to protect the best interests of the child, and helps children achieve a permanent home as early in life as possible.

Supervised Visitation: Provides a neutral and safe environment for children to visit with their non-custodial parents. Visitation monitors ensure that children and their non-custodial parents enjoy safe visits with each other while awaiting the outcome of their cases that are pending in Family Court and the Department of Social Services.
